Restoration Case Studies

Every heritage building presents a slightly different puzzle: the same black crust on sandstone can come from decades of road grime, rising salt, or a past coating that trapped moisture in the wall. Case studies are the clearest way to show how assessment-led restoration works in practice — what the building presented with, what investigation revealed, how the scope was staged, and which materials and methods were chosen and why.

This section collects our own project write-ups from around Sydney and NSW together with significant public conservation works, so owners, strata committees and heritage consultants can see the process end to end before planning their own repairs. Each write-up names the methods and materials used, notes what access and staging involved, and is honest about constraints — heritage work is often as much about what you don't do as what you do. New case studies are added as projects are completed and photographed.
